A lot of us always look to the past to find comfort or happiness. Not to say that our lives are currently down, but humans usually associate their younger days with more leisure and fun. Mind you, there are different ways to get that sort of feeling, and one that Laban Up used effectively at MEFCC 2018 by constructing their stand to host a Retro Arcade! But why would a brand like Laban Up associate itself with Retro gaming? The answer is the same as why a lot of Older gamers still prefer Arcade games, it's a part of their upbringing.
We spoke to Walid Rebbah from Laban Up who emphasized on how this idea was successful in terms of aligning Laban Up with its target market. "People saw the connection between Laban Up and Retro games. It had everyone riled up, people from different ages, ethnicities, it all made a big buzz! It hit the right spot!". The stand had really high footfall, and a lot of the visitors kept on coming back to game even more, in fact, one Lady kept on returning to make sure no one beat her high score on one of the games, and she wasn't the only one.
Visitors were on hand to try the following Classics:
It was quite a festival in the Laban Up Retro Arcade stand, as it also attracted the likes of Mona Al Marri and MadShadz! Two famous Arabic Influencers who visited the stand to indulge in their love for retro gaming. Walid described the event as a celebration of everything that is Pop Culture, and as a gamer himself, he could not contain his excitement from returning to the exhibition. Not only was the Retro Gaming stand a success at MEFCC, it is due to return in this year's Middle East Games Con, where it will surely excel as part of a huge portfolio of gaming experiences at the Event.
